Barnes & Noble Story Times and Other Activities

Did you know that Barnes & Noble hosts regular Story Times each Friday and Saturday?  Along with the stories, they have other activities and sometimes even have authors on hand to sign children’s books.  Here is a list of their June and July events.

June 9th; 11:00am

  • Children’s Storytime
    Great children’s books are the regular features of our children’s Storytime events.

June 10th; 11:00am 

These three events are at the same time.

  • Summer Reading Kickoff Party
    Join us as we celebrate the Barnes & Noble summer reading program. We’re excited to partner with the Metamorphasis Powerhouse Company for Storytime and activities. Young author Nation Chapman will also be on hand to sign his book Popcorn vs Nacho.
  • Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Storytime
    With his trademark use of humorous verse and illustrations, Dr. Seuss’s wonderfully wise graduation speech will truly inspire anyone starting out in the world! Join us at this special Storytime, with activities to follow.
  • Popcorn vs Nacho by Nation Chapman
    We’re excited to welcome young author Nation Chapman. His book, Popcorn vs Nacho, gives an entertaining look at why you shouldn’t be a bully.

June 16th; 11:00am

June 17th; 11:00am

  • Father’s Day Storytime
    Just in time for Father’s Day, this playful book follows four father-child pairs as they spend happy, silly times together, popping bubble wrap, watching cartoons and taking part in shopping cart races. These dads may look like grown-ups on the outside, but underneath they’re kids just like you! Activities to follow.

  • The Rainbow Fish Storytime
    This modern classic is celebrating its 25th year in print! With eye-catching foil stamping glittering on every page, it offers instant child appeal.     In this hilarious new book from acclaimed author Ryan T. Higgins, all Rupert the Mouse wants is to star in a beautiful, wordless picture book. He has plenty of ideas about what makes a great book, but his friends just won’t stop talking! Activities to follow.

  • Little Excavator Storytime
    From New York Times bestselling author-illustrator of the Llama Llama books comes a new character ready to dig his way into your heart! Little Excavator joins Loader, Dump Truck, Backhoe and Crane as they get ready to transform a vacant lot into a neighborhood park. Join us for Storytime, with activities to follow.

July 14th; 11:00am

  • Pig the Pug and Pig the Winner Storytime
    Join Pig the Pug as he learns lessons the hard way with his footlong playmate Trevor by his side. Young readers will love the irresistibly quirky and funny illustrations that are paired with a relatable lesson of learning to share with others. Activities to follow.

July 21st; 11:00am

July 22nd; 11:00am

  • What Do You Do With a Problem? Storytime
    This is the story of a persistent problem and the child who isn’t so sure what to make of it. The longer the problem is avoided, the bigger it seems to get. But when the child finally musters up the courage to face it, the problem turns out to be something quite different than it appeared. Activities to follow.

  • Storytime in Celebration of Get Pop-Cultured with Barnes & Noble Featuring Good Morning, Superman!, Be A Star, Wonder Woman! and Bedtime for Batman
    Superheroes have to get up in the morning, go to school and have a bedtime, just like you! Join us as we read about turning everyday situations into amazing super adventures! Kids, come dressed as your favorite superhero, villain or character to show your fandom! Activities to follow.
