Monkey Joe’s Collecting Items for Troops

Monkey Joe’s in Warner Robins is hosting a collection drive for Operation Shoebox during the month of May.  Operation Shoebox was started in 2003 by a mom who had seven of her family members deployed around the world.   During that time she realized that troops did not receive many care packages from home, so she decided to take action.  Now, she and her organization ship 800 to 1,000 boxes a week to soldiers overseas.   Here is the information from Monkey Joe’s on how you can help –

Operation Shoebox is an amazing charity that sends care packages to deployed troops around the world.  They receive a lot of donations during the holidays but struggle during summer months to fill all the care packages.  To help meet the need, Monkey Joe’s will be collecting items during the month of May.  A full list of items can be found here.  Items can be dropped off in the Monkey Joe’s lobby, and as an added bonus, children will have an opportunity to write a letter or draw a picture that will be sent with the care packages.

What a great opportunity for us to reach out and help these soldiers that are so far from home!  Please take the time to look at the list and choose something that you can donate.

Monkey Joe’s is located at 4993 Russell Parkway in Warner Robins.
