Children’s Summer Workshops at the Ocmulgee National Monument

In June, the Ocmulgee National Monument will be hosting their FREE Annual Children’s Summer Workshops.  Here is the information from their event page

Children between the ages of 6-12 can attend a workshop to learn about the hisory, culture, and nature of Ocmulgee National Monument. The children will participate in a one mile walk to see the Great Temple Mound. They will learn how to make American Indian pottery. They will make other crafts that teach either about the American Indians or the nature we have in the park. They will learn how to play American Indian games and learn American Indian creation stories.

CHILDREN MUST BRING A LUNCH AND TWO DRINKS (one for the walk and one for their lunch). Children can only attend once (same workshop every week).  ONLY 25 KIDS PER WEEK. SPACE IS LIMITED!

TO MAKE A RESERVATION CALL (478) 752-8257 EXT 222 BETWEEN 9AM-5PM.

You must provide the child’s name & age, parent’s name, address, phone number.

This is a fun event – my boys have done it for several years now, and always enjoyed it.  Also, you can drop your kids off or stay with them – your choice.
