Upcoming Children’s Events at Barnes & Noble

Did you know that Barnes & Noble hosts a Children’s Storytime for preschoolers every Friday at 11:00am?  In addition to stories, they have singing and snacks.  Also, B&N has started offering storytimes for older kids on Saturdays on a regular basis.  Here are the ones they have posted through April.

March 3rd; 6:00pm

  • Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Storytime
    Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! In celebration of the beloved author’s birthday, we will host a special Storytime featuring coloring, activities and more. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled Storytime!

March 4th; 11:00am

  • Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site Storytime
    As the sun sets behind the big construction site, all the hardworking trucks get ready to say goodnight. One by one Crane Truck, Cement Mixer, Dump Truck, Bulldozer and Excavator finish their work and lie down to rest so they’ll be ready for another day of rough and tough construction play! Join us for Storytime featuring Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site.

  • Dance Storytime
    From the #1 New York Times bestselling children’s book creator Matthew Van Fleet comes a laugh-out-loud, jazzy story of a little baby chick who learns how to dance from a friendly band of animals who know all the right moves! Don’t miss out on our Storytime featuring the title Dance.

  • The LEGO Batman Movie Event
    At the finale for our three-month celebration of The LEGO Batman Movie, kids will be able to help Batman protect Gotham from the Joker by making their very own LEGO Batman Speedwagon! Kids can also collect the final two limited edition trading cards featuring characters from the movie. Join us for this fun LEGO Make & Take event (while supplies last).

  • Egg Storytime
    Egg is a graphic novel for preschoolers about four eggs, one big surprise and an unlikely friendship by Caldecott Medalist and New York Times bestselling author Kevin Henkes. Egg is not only a perfect Easter gift, but also a classic read-alone and read-aloud that will appeal all year long. Join us for this Storytime, with coloring and activities to follow.

 

March 25th; 11:00am

  • Create Your Own Little Golden Book Storytime
    In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Little Golden Book, join us to create your very own Little Golden Book to take home. We will read classic Little Golden Book titles such as The Monster at the End of This Book (Sesame Street Series).

April 1st; 11:00am

  • Celebration of Beauty and the Beast
    Join us as we celebrate the release of the new Beauty and the Beast movie. In addition to a special Storytime, kids of all ages are invited to sing favorite songs from the movie soundtrack and participate in other fun activities. Attendees will receive a mini-poster and bookmark, while supplies last.

April 8th; 11:00am

  • The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors Storytime
    From Drew Daywalt, author of the New York Times bestseller The Day the Crayons Quit, comes a laugh-out-loud picture book about the epic tale of the classic game Rock, Paper, Scissors. Activities to follow.
