Kid’s Activities at the Daylily Festival in Gray

The City of Gray will be hosting their 12th Annual Daylily Festival on June 6th at the Pecan Orchard in Gray.  Vendors are bringing their best antiques, collectibles, vintage, local artwork, outdoor gardening, iron works, statuaries, pottery, woodworking, folk art, jewelry, glassware, textiles, rustics, up cycle, a broad variety of shrubs, annuals, perennials (including rare & usual plants), jams, jellies & honey, great food & much more! They will also have the “Frozen Queen”, her sister, and their snowman friend join the kids in a Children’s Parade.  This begins at 9:30am, and then the kids will get cookies decorated like a lily.  There will also be bouncy houses, dry and water slides, a rock wall, and a lot of other fun activities.

The festival will begin at 9:00am and end at 7:00pm.  Admission is free for 15 and under, and $1.00 for everyone else.

Gottwals Books is hosting book readings throughout the summer, called Kids Corner. They will have guest readers, snacks, giveaways, and sometimes activities.  Here is the information from their website

Join us next week at 10:00 a.m. (6/3) at the Macon location on Riverside Drive for our first Kid’s Corner of Summer 2015. The first Warner Robins event will be on Thursday (6/4) at 10:00 a.m. We will meet at the same day and time in Macon and Warner Robins each week, all Summer long!

We’ll be following our ADVENTURE MAP! Directed by Jennifer Tucker, kids will journey through fantastic places and meet characters old and new. So come along with us for adventure, snacks, and giveaways!

The Macon event will always be on Wednesdays, and the Warner Robins will be on Thursdays – both at 10:00am.  Here are the themes each week –

  • June 3rd & 4th – Into the Woods
  • June 10th & 11th – Pooh Corner
  • June 17th & 18th – Outer Space
  • June 24th & 25th – Whooville
  • July 1st & 2nd – Under the Sea
  • June 8th & 9th – Dino Land
  • June 15th & 16th – On the Farm
  • July 22nd & 23rd – Jungle Safari
