Grand Opening of Amerson River Park

The Amerson River Park will be celebrating its Re-Opening with a day of activities for kids and adults. Here is the information from Mayor Reighert’s facebook page –

The Park is reopening after being closed for a year so it could receive $5.5 million in improvements, including two new pavilions, upgrades to the Porter Pavilion area, a scenic river overlook, bathrooms at the playground, 3.5 miles of paved trails, .75 miles of mulch trails, a grand entrance, a new canoe takeout, and more. Here are the events for May 30th.11:00 to 5:00 – River floats (there will be kayaks available for you to take out)
11:00 to 1:30 – Kids activities
2:00 to 3:00 – Program
3:00 to 3:45 – Savannah Alday
4:00 to 4:45 – Bo Ponder
5:30 to 7:00 – Loose Skrews

Parking will be at Hutchings College & Career Academy (2011 Riverside Drive) and River Street Corners (2720 Riverside Drive). MTA will provide shuttles throughout the day.
