Macon will be hosting its annual Christmas parade on Sunday, December 4th, at 3:00 pm. According to Main Street Macon, the parade will be lining up near the Children’s Museum, go down Cherry Street, cross over 1st Street, and continue down Mulberry Street.
There are also many other events going on this weekend in downtown Macon.
Thursday evening, beginning at 6:30, there will be a performance by the Board of Education’s Fine Arts Department on the steps of the City Auditorium, and then the Mayor and the County Commissioner will light the Christmas Tree.
On Friday evening, many businesses will be holding Open Houses from 5:00 – 7:00 pm during Friday Fest.
Specifically for children on Friday, The Polar Express will be shown at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame at 6:30, and admission is free. They will have popcorn and drinks for $1. You can see more information here. Also, the Georgia Children’s Museum will be open from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with free admission for everyone.
There will be free parking for all of these events in the Poplar Street Parking Deck.
